Bailie Kate

11 years behind the chair

I swoon over romantic french bobs and soft tousled bohemian styles, retro/modern shags and long textured layers. I love working with people’s natural texture and creating effortless, lived-in shapes. I cut in a structure to the hair that works, whether styled with a brush or washed and air dried. I’m also inspired by bangs/fringe and short cuts for both men and women. I enjoy sculpting in a great shape and find it thought provoking. Bangs/fringe are a great way to add interest and instant style to what would otherwise be a pretty simple cut. My main cutting tools of choice are the straight razor and scissors.

In 2009 I studied at Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy in Dallas, TX. Directly afterwards I started an apprenticeship at one of their salons, after which I became a full-time stylist. After a few years, I progressed to being an educator within the company, where I trained future apprentices. I specialize in haircutting, for both men and women, and I love doing updos and specialty styles. Since then I’ve done countless training sessions and classes with Kevin Murphy, Unite, Wella, Jayne Matthews of Edo salon, Pony education, Deva curl and Ouidad.
